Releasing Control Panel

The Model CA2Z Class A Module is designed to be used with the Janus Fire Systems® JFS-C1 Releasing Control Panel to convert from two (Class B) initiating device circuits to two (Class A) circuits. The module is to be mounted in the upper right hand corner of the panel. Connection to the panel is made via the 8 pin header mounted on the back side of the CA2Z.

CA2Z - Class A Initiating Device Module

The ARM-44 is an auxiliary relay module designed to operate with the Janus Fire Systems® JFSC1 Releasing Panel to provide an additional 8 independent form C relay outputs in 3 different operating modes. The panel communicates with the ARM-44 via the RS-485 and 24 VDC auxiliary power connection on the JFS-C1.

Operating modes

The relay board can either be installed inside the JFS-C1 cabinet or remotely in a separate backbox. The relays can be programmed to either latch or follow the relay activation signal. There is also a disable switch to prevent the relays from operating when the system is being tested or serviced. The silkscreen under the relay terminals corresponds with the selected operating mode: Mode 1/ Mode 2/Mode 3.
Examples
• Zone1/Zone1/Sup: indicates that relay operates with Zone 1 for Mode 1 & 2 and operates as a Supervisory relay in Mode 3.
• Out 1/Sup/Out 1: indicates that relay operates with Output 1 in Mode 1, as a Supervisory relay in Mode 2 and with Output 1 in Mode 3.

ARM-44 - Relay Module

The ARM-2 Auxiliary Relay Module is a UL listed option when factory installed in the Janus Fire Systems® JFS-C1 Releasing Control Panel. When the ARM-2 is used the additional power required for this relay module must be subtracted from the total circuit current available. See the JFS-C1 Manual. The ARM-2 Auxiliary Relay Module is a non-supervised DPDT Relay designed to be activated by 24 VDC Indicating and/or Releasing, polarity reversing circuits. The module can be used for fan shutdown, door release, elevator recall, etc. Note: One to four ARM-2 modules in the JFS-C1 Series may be utilized to provide multiple auxiliary functions.

Remote Annunciator

The RA-4410-RC remote annunciator is designed to operate with the Janus Fire Systems® JFS-C1 Releasing Control Panel. The unit mounts into any 4 gang box. There are 33 LED’s to indicate a change in panel status. A buzzer on the annunciator sounds for any trouble or supervisory condition. Pressing the SILENCE/LAMP TEST button silences the buzzer as well as lighting all of the lamps. The releasing panel supervises and communicates with the annunciator via separate connections for the RS-485 communication and the 24 VDC power requirements of the RA-4410-RC. Separate cables should be used for power and communication. Shielded cable must be used for the communication line (RS-485). Up to four annunciators can be connected to one panel. A Rotary switch is provided on the panel to indicate how many annunciators are connected. Another rotary switch is on the annunciator to set the address. The annunciators must be addressed consecutively

Releasing Control Panel

The Janus Fire Systems® JFS-C1 Releasing Control Panel is a flexible single-hazard releasing control panel that is well suited for a number of applications. The panel is listed for use with agent based fire suppression systems as well as pre-action and deluge sprinkler suppression systems. The panel utilizes a microprocessor-based system that has 32 Standard Programs, which covers a majority of installations. The simple to follow Menu Structure programs the entire system in a matter of minutes. In addition to the Standard Programs, the panel allows custom programming to accommodate any installation. The panel is housed in a durable steel cabinet with removable door and key lock. The panel comes in a red finish with an optional flush mount trim ring. The cabinet contains knockouts on the side, back and top of the cabinet to ease installation. In addition, the cabinet will house up to 18 amp-hour batteries that will provide up to 90 hours of standby power.

The AE-8 and AE-14 Expander Cabinets accommodate up to 8 and 14 respectively standard size SLCE-127, RLY-5, or other stacker bracket sized cards.

Micro Input Module

The PAD100-MIM is used to monitor the status of an initiating device(s) that contain a normally open set of dry contacts. The module is enclosed in a plastic case to protect against inadvertent shorts and ground faults. The case can be mounted using a single screw. The PAD100-MIM has a status indicator LED to indicate communication and alarm condition. In normal condition, the LED flashes when the device is being polled by the control panel. When the input is activated, the LED will flash at a fast rate.

Application

The micro input module (PAD100-MIM) is compatible with JFS-IP series addressable fire alarm control panels. Generally the PAD100-MIM is used to monitor pull stations and other devices where the module is installed in an electrical box or enclosure behind the device being monitored.

PAD100-MIM

Dual Input Module

The PAD100-DIM uses one (1) SLC loop address when monitoring two (2) Class B circuits or one (1) Class A circuit. The module mounts on either a 4” square or double gang box. The module is capable of monitoring two (2) separate class B circuits making it ideal for monitoring sprinkler waterflow and valve tamper switches when they are located in the same proximity. The PAD100-DIM includes one red LED to indicate the module’s status. In normal condition, the LED flashes when the device is being polled by the control panel. When an input is activated, the LED will flash at a fast rate.

Application

The PAD100-DIM is compatible with JFS-IP series addressable fire alarm control panels. The PAD100-DIM is an interface module used to monitor dry contact devices such as sprinkler waterflow, valve tamper switches, or conventional pull stations. The module is capable of monitoring two separate Class B or one Class A circuits.

PAD100-DIM

Isolator Module

The PAD100-IM module does not require an SLC loop address but does consume power from the SLC loop. The module provides protection against short circuits by limiting the number of affected devices. When the PAD100-IM detects a short circuit on the SLC loop, it disconnects the outgoing side of the module to prevent the short from affecting the rest of the SLC loop. The PAD100-IM includes one red LED to indicate the modules status. When the module is shorted, the LED will light continuously. Once the short is removed, the PAD100-IM will automatically restore to a cleared condition.

Application

The PAD100-IM is compatible with JFS-IP series addressable fire alarm control panels. The PA D100- IM is used to provide additional reliability by isolating a segment of the SLC loop where a short circuit has occurred.

Speaker Module

The PAD100-SM uses one (1) SLC loop address. The module mounts on either a 4” square or double gang box. The module is capable of switching one of the two audio input channels to its audio output channel. The PAD100-SM includes one red LED to indicate the module’s status. Application

The PAD100-SM is compatible with JFS-IP series addressable fire alarm control panels. The PAD100- SM is an audio switch module to be used in audio switching applications.

Releasing Control Panel

The PAD100-DRTS module does not require an SLC loop address. The PAD100-DRTS provides a supervised remote test switch for the PAD100-DUCTR duct detector. Active and Pilot LEDs provide status of the PAD100-DUCTR detector. Keyed switch allows remote testing of the PAD100-DUCTR duct detector

Releasing Control Panel

The Signaling Line Circuit Expander PAD100-SLCE allows up to thirty one additional loops. Each loop adds 127 addressable sensors or modules in any combination. The PAD100-SLCE may be configured for Class A or Class B wiring without the need for additional modules. The PAD100-SLCE communicates with the control panel via the Potter P-Link communication bus. The loop adder is mounted in either the control panel cabinet, the intelligent power supply, AE-2, AE-8 or the AE-14 expander cabinet. Each card is mounted to the exclusive Stacker Bracket for secure and accessible mounting.

Releasing Control Panel

The Multi-Connect Expander (MC-1000) allows up to sixty-three (63) JFS-IP series fire alarm control panels to share a single reporting technology. Each MC-1000 supports communication between the host reporting panel and two client panels. The MC-1000 communicates with the host and client control panels via the Potter P-Link communication bus. The MC-1000 can be mounted in either the control panel cabinet, the intelligent power supply/P-Link repeater, the PSN-1000E, AE-2, AE-8 or the AE-14 expander cabinet. Each card is mounted to the exclusive Stacker Bracket for secure and accessible mounting.

MC-1000

Releasing Control Panel

The LED-16 is a LED remote annunciator for the JFS-A Series and JFS-IP Series addressable fire control panels. The LED-16 communicates using a RS-485 connection to the main panel providing zone specific indication of Alarm, Supervisory, Trouble conditions. The LED-16 features 2 slide-in labels allowing each of the 16 zones to be customized for any application. It can be mounted on a single gang electrical box or a four-square electrical box. The annunciator utilizes a sheet metal enclosure secured with a lock.

Releasing Control Panel

The LED-16F is a LED remote annunciator for the JFS-A Series, and JFS-IP series addressable fire control panels. The JFS-IP4000 is an expandable analog/addressable releasing fire alarm system with a total system capacity of 4,064 addresses. Additional capacity on the system is achieved using multi-point SLC modules The control panel utilizes the exclusive Potter protocol that includes a complete line of sensors and modules. The system is expandable with a total of thirty-one additional addressable Signaling Line Circuits (SLC) each with a maximum of 127 devices. Each SLC may be comprised of any combination of smoke sensor, heat detectors or modules and allows for a total of 50 ohms of impedance and may use any wire compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The JFS-IP4000 has a 10 Amp power supply with six Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) and four Input/Output (I/O) circuits. The NACs are rated at 3 Amps each and the I/Os are rated at 1 Amp each. Each output is regulated and power limited. In addition, each output is uniquely programmable and may be configured for steady signal, strobe synchronization, constant power, door holder power, or releasing. The strobe synchronization includes Potter/AMSECO, Gentex, System Sensor and Cooper/Wheelock and with the exclusive Quadrasync each output may have a unique brand and all strobes will flash together. The I/Os are designed for inputs such as manual release stations and abort switches that will not require polling and react nearly instantaneously. The JFS-IP4000 is listed for releasing of fire suppression systems. The software allows cross zones, counting zones, and timers for suppression. The system is capable of multiple release outputs across multiple hazards. In addition, the JFS-PS1000 may be used to extend releasing capability. The NACs may be expanded using the JFS-PS1000 series intelligent power supplies. Each JFS-PS1000 adds another 10 Amps of power, 2 additional input circuits and the JFS-IP4000 will support up to 31 power supplies. The system will synchronize the strobes system wide. In addition, the JFS-PS1000E has space to allow the installation of up to six PAD100-SLCE SLC loop expansion cards. The cards mount on a stacker bracket that allows access to all SLC circuit connections.

JFS-IP4000 - Addressable Fire Control Panel

Releasing Control Panel

The JFS-IP127 is an analog/addressable releasing fire alarm system with a total system capacity of 127 addresses. Additional capacity on the system is achieved using multi-point SLC modules. The control panel utilizes the exclusive Potter protocol that includes a complete line of sensors and modules. Each SLC may be comprised of any combination of smoke sensor, heat detectors or modules and allows for a total of 50 ohms of impedance and may use any wire compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The JFS-IP127 has a 5 Amp power supply with two Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) and two Input/Output (I/O) circuits. The NACs are rated at 3 Amps each and the I/Os are rated at 1 Amp each. Each output is regulated and power limited. Addressable Fire Control Panel

The JFS-IP60 is an analog/addressable releasing fire alarm system with a total system capacity of 60 addresses. Additional capacity on the system is achieved using multi-point SLC modules. The control panel utilizes the exclusive Potter protocol that includes a complete line of sensors and modules. Each SLC may be comprised of any combination of smoke sensor, heat detectors or modules and allows for a total of 50 ohms of impedance and may use any wire compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The JFS-IP60 has a 5 Amp power supply with two Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) and two Input/Output (I/O) circuits. The NACs are rated at 3 Amps each and the I/Os are rated at 1 Amp each. Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter

The UD-1000 Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) provides for up to two (2) phone lines for communication to a monitoring station. The UD-1000 DACT communicates using the SIA-DCS or Ademco Contact ID protocols. When enabled, the DACT automatically monitors each phone line or voltage and has the ability to seize the line and connect with a remote receiver. Once the communication is complete, the DACT will hang up the phone line.

Series Power Supply

The PSN series of notification power supplies offers reliable notification power with unprecedented versatility. The power supplies offer either 6 or 10 amps of continuous power through 4 or 6 outputs respectively. Each output is rated at 3 amps and it may be used continuously without any derating. The power supply operates on either 120 VAC or 220 VAC power input and has a regulated 24 VDC output. In addition, the panel can charge up to 55 AH batteries and leads the industry in housing up to 18 AH batteries. The cabinet is constructed out of 18 gauge cold rolled steel and has a durable red powder coat finish. The JFS-PS1000 then repeats the P-Link communication for another 6,500 feet.

Short Circuit Isolator

The SCI is used to provide additional reliability for a fire protection system by isolating a segment of an SLC loop in which a short circuit has occurred. This makes it possible for the remainder of the loop to provide normal monitoring functions. SCI employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED is deactivated. When the short circuit is happened, SCI will cut off the short circuit and turn on the LED.

Miniature Contact Module

The miniature contact module (MCM) module is used to monitor the contact status of an initiating device that contains a normally open contact. The MCM can be programmed in the panel to supervise either a Normally-open or Normally-closed contact on the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). When the Normally-open contact is selected, and the contact is closed, the MCM reports its condition to FACP. Likewise when the Normally-close contact is set as supervising condition, and the contact is opened, the MCM reports its condition to FACP. MCM supervises an open circuit of wiring connected to the terminal C and NO. The MCM is generally used to monitor pull stations and other devices where the module is installed in an electrical box or enclosure. The contact utilizes a terminal block that is covered in accordance with UL requirements to protect from inadvertent shorts and ground faults.

Dual Contact Module

The Dual Contact Module, DCM-4 is used to supervise multiple contact points with unique addresses from a single device. The DCM-4 may be configured to monitor a normally open or normally closed contact. In addition, the DCM-4 may be configured as a single contact utilizing Class A wiring methods. In case of one contact supervising, wiring shall comply with the Class A (Style D) wiring. In case of two contacts supervising, wiring shall comply with the Class B (Style B) wiring.

Twin Relay Module

The TRM-4 module has two Form C relay contact that can be programmed to activate when mapped devices detect active conditions. Those two Form C relay contacts shall activate simultaneously. TRM-4 employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED flashes. When the relay contact is activated, the LED will turn on constantly. The system has a maximum of 13 LEDs that can be activated simultaneously. If the system already has 13 LEDs on, the TRM-4 will operate even though the LED will not illuminate.

Monitored Output Module

The MOM-4 module provides a programmable source of power to control and operate output devices including notification appliances and releasing devices. Additionally, it continuously supervises wiring connected to terminals A+, A- for open or short circuits and 24+ and 24- when 24VDC is applied. MOM-4 employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED flashes. When the output is activated, the LED will turn on constantly. In case of trouble, the LED will turn off. Since the system allows maximum 13 LEDs on devices to turn on constantly, if system already has 13 lighted LEDs on devices, MOM-4 will not turn on the LED and keep flashing even if the output of MOM-4 is activated.

MOM-4

Conventional Input Zone Module

The CIZM-4 module is used to supervise the status of initiating devices connected on an Initiating device circuit (IDC). The CIZM-4 detects an alarm condition and reports to the FACP. The CIZM4 module also supervises the initiating device wiring (A+, A-, B+, and B- wires) and wiring for the power supply connected to terminals 24+ and 24- to detect an open circuit. IDC wiring style is applicable to the NFPA Class B (Style B) & Class A (Style D). When the CIZM-4 module detects an alarm, the module is latched until the system reset. When the CIZM-4 module is used with Class A (Style D) wiring condition and detects an open circuit on wiring of the IDC and power supply connected to terminal 24+ and 24-, the module is also latched until the system reset.

Fire Communications Bridge

The Fire Communications Bridge (FCB-1000) allows the final network/Ethernet connection to be located away from the main panel and is compatible with the JFS-A1 and JFS-A2 addressable fire control panels. The FCB-1000 may be mounted into either the control panel cabinet, the PSN-1000/E intelligent power supply cabinet, or the AE-8 or the AE-14 accessory cabinet. Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter

The UD-1000 Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) provides for up to two (2) phone lines for communication to a monitoring station. The UD-1000 DACT communicates using the SIA-DCS or Ademco Contact ID protocols. When enabled, the DACT automatically monitors each phone line or voltage and has the ability to seize the line and connect with a remote receiver. Once the communication is complete, the DACT will hang up the phone line.

Series Power Supply

The PSN series of notification power supplies offers reliable notification power with unprecedented versatility. The power supplies offer either 6 or 10 amps of continuous power through 4 or 6 outputs respectively. Each output is rated at 3 amps and it may be used continuously without any derating. The power supply operates on either 120 VAC or 220 VAC power input and has a regulated 24 VDC output. In addition, the panel can charge up to 55 AH batteries and leads the industry in housing up to 18 AH batteries. The cabinet is constructed out of 18 gauge cold rolled steel and has a durable red powder coat finish. In addition, a key lock is provided for securing the door.Ample electrical knockouts are provided on the sides and the top, allowing the installer options for running wires and maintaining the correct separations. The power supply offers an industry leading Quadrasync function that allows for multiple strobe circuits of different brands to be synchronized to flash at the same time. The panel can have four different brands each connected to its own circuit and all of the strobes flash together.

Remote Power Supply

The JFS-PS1000 series is a UL listed intelligent 10 amp notification power supply and P-Link (RS485) repeater. The power supply connects to the P-Link bus from the control panel and is operated and supervised from the panel. The power supply may be installed 6,500 feet from the control panel. The JFS-PS1000 then repeats the P-Link communication for another 6,500 feet.

Loop Expansion Module

The Signaling Line Circuit Expander (SLCE-127) allows for an additional 15 loops for the JFS-A2 fire alarm control panel. Each loop adds 127 addressable sensors or modules in any combination. The SLCE-127 may be configured for Class A or Class B wiring without the need for additional modules. The SLCE-127 communicates with the control panel via the Potter P-Link communication bus. Short Circuit Isolator

The SCI is used to provide additional reliability for a fire protection system by isolating a segment of an SLC loop in which a short circuit has occurred. This makes it possible for the remainder of the loop to provide normal monitoring functions. SCI employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED is deactivated. When the short circuit is happened, SCI will cut off the short circuit and turn on the LED.

Miniature Contact Module

The miniature contact module (MCM) module is used to monitor the contact status of an initiating device that contains a normally open contact. The MCM can be programmed in the panel to supervise either a Normally-open or Normally-closed contact on the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). When the Normally-open contact is selected, and the contact is closed, the MCM reports its condition to FACP. Likewise when the Normally-close contact is set as supervising condition, and the contact is opened, the MCM reports its condition to FACP. MCM supervises an open circuit of wiring connected to the terminal C and NO. The MCM is generally used to monitor pull stations and other devices where the module is installed in an electrical box or enclosure. The contact utilizes a terminal block that is covered in accordance with UL requirements to protect from inadvertent shorts and ground faults.

Dual Contact Module

The Dual Contact Module, DCM-4 is used to supervise multiple contact points with unique addresses from a single device. The DCM-4 may be configured to monitor a normally open or normally closed contact. In addition, the DCM-4 may be configured as a single contact utilizing Class A wiring methods. In case of one contact supervising, wiring shall comply with the Class A (Style D) wiring. In case of two contacts supervising, wiring shall comply with the Class B (Style B) wiring.

Twin Relay Module

The TRM-4 module has two Form C relay contact that can be programmed to activate when mapped devices detect active conditions. Those two Form C relay contacts shall activate simultaneously. TRM-4 employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED flashes. When the relay contact is activated, the LED will turn on constantly. The system has a maximum of 13 LEDs that can be activated simultaneously. If the system already has 13 LEDs on, the TRM-4 will operate even though the LED will not illuminate.

Monitored Output Module

The MOM-4 module provides a programmable source of power to control and operate output devices including notification appliances and releasing devices. Additionally, it continuously supervises wiring connected to terminals A+, A- for open or short circuits and 24+ and 24- when 24VDC is applied. MOM-4 employs one red LED to indicate the status. In normal condition, the LED flashes. When the output is activated, the LED will turn on constantly. In case of trouble, the LED will turn off. Since the system allows maximum 13 LEDs on devices to turn on constantly, if system already has 13 lighted LEDs on devices, MOM-4 will not turn on the LED and keep flashing even if the output of MOM-4 is activated.

MOM-4

Conventional Input Zone Module

The CIZM-4 module is used to supervise the status of initiating devices connected on an Initiating device circuit (IDC). The CIZM-4 detects an alarm condition and reports to the FACP. The CIZM4 module also supervises the initiating device wiring (A+, A-, B+, and B- wires) and wiring for the power supply connected to terminals 24+ and 24- to detect an open circuit. IDC wiring style is applicable to the NFPA Class B (Style B) & Class A (Style D). When the CIZM-4 module detects an alarm, the module is latched until the system reset. When the CIZM-4 module is used with Class A (Style D) wiring condition and detects an open circuit on wiring of the IDC and power supply connected to terminal 24+ and 24-, the module is also latched until the system reset. The CIZM-4 module has one red LED for local indication of the statuses of module itself and its wiring. Normal conditions are indicated by flashing LED. Alarm condition is indicated by constant illumination. Open circuit condition is indicated by extinction. However the system allows maximum 13 points illuminating constantly. Therefore the LED of modules which detects an alarm after the 13 points may be flashing even if the modules detect an alarm.

Addressable Releasing Control Panel

The JFS-A2 (Potter model P400R) is an expandable analog/addressable releasing fire alarm system with a total system capacity of 2,032 points. The control panel utilizes the exclusive Potter/Nohmi protocol that includes a complete line of sensors and modules. The system is expandable with a total of fifteen additional addressable Signaling Line Circuits (SLC) each with a maximum of 127 devices. Each SLC may be comprised of any combination of smoke sensor, heat detectors or modules and allows for a total of 50 ohms of impedance and may use any wire compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The JFS-A2 has a 10 Amp power supply with six Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) and four Input/Output (I/O) circuits. The NACs are rated at 3 Amps each and the I/Os are rated at 1 Amp each. Photoelectric/Heat Smoke Detector

The PS-24H can be used in all areas where Photoelectric Smoke Detectors are required. The wide range smoke chamber makes the PS-24H well suited for fires ranging from smoldering to flaming fires. SB Series bases may be used with the PS-24H. The PS-24H photoelectric smoke detector utilizes two bicolored LEDs for indication of status. In a normal standby condition, the LEDs flash green every 3 seconds. When the detector senses that its sensitivity has drifted outside its UL listed sensitivity window, the LEDs will flash Red every 3 seconds. When the detector senses smoke and goes into alarm, the status LED will latch on Red.

The PAD100-RB does not consume an SLC address and does not require an auxiliary power source.

The Addressable Isolator Base 6” (PAD100-IB) comes with an integrated isolator module included. The base has a locking feature for the sensor that may be used or removed in the field. Once the head is removed, the isolator is accessible in the bottom of the unit. The isolator will open the Signaling Line Circuit down stream when a short circuit is detected. This will provide devices between the control panel and the isolator to continue to operate. The short is indicated by a steady red LED and once the short is removed the unit will return to normal operation.

Application

The PAD100-6DB and PAD100-4DB detector bases are used to install addressable smoke and heat detectors. The PAD100-6DB will mount on a single gang, double gang, octagon or 4” square electrical box.

The PAD100-DUCTR is designed and built to meet all local requirements, as well as the NFPA regulations regarding duct smoke detectors. Air sampling is accomplished by two tubes which protrude into the duct. An exhaust tube of one standard length (7”) is supplied in the installation kit with the smoke duct unit. Once the duct width has been determined the air intake sampling tubes must be ordered. Sampling tubes are supplied in three standard lengths: 2.5 ft., 5 ft., and 10 ft. and cut to size to fit the duct. Mounting the duct smoke unit is accomplished by the use of a template and 2 sheet metal screws, which are provided. The ARB-6 has a divider providing means for separation of high voltage and non-power limited connections from the power limited, regulated Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). The ARB-6 is designed that once activated, both relays change position. The activation of the unit is identified by a LED on the unit latching red. The unit is reset when the panel is reset. The VRT Series Remote Displays provide real-time indication of the status of a VESDA detector. LaserPLUS Air Sampling Detector

The VLP Series VESDA® LaserPLUS air sampling detector is the central element of the VESDA air sampling product range. Using unique detection principles, the VLP has an alarm sensitivity range of 0.0015%–6.25% obscuration/ft (0.005%–20% obscuration/m). The VESDA LaserPLUS air sampling detector is classed as a “Very Early Warning Smoke Detector”, which means that it detects fire at the earliest possible stage and reliably measures very low to extremely high concentrations of smoke.

How it works

Air is drawn into the VLP air sampling detector through a network of air sampling pipes by a high efficiency aspirator. Each inlet pipe has an airflow sensor that monitors airflow changes in the pipes. Air is exhausted from the VLP and may be vented back into the protected zone. Inside the VLP detector, a sample of air is passed into the laser detection chamber. Ultra-fine air filtration provides very clean air to protect the optical surfaces inside the detector from contamination. The detection chamber uses a stable Class 1 laser light source and carefully positioned sensors to achieve the optimum response to a vast range of smoke types.

VLP Series

LaserSCANNER Air Sampling Detector

The VLS Series VESDA® LaserSCANNER air sampling detector is similar to the standard VLP Series VESDA® LaserPLUS air sampling detector, but also includes a valve mechanism in the inlet manifold and software to control the airflow from the four sectors (pipes). This configuration enables a single air sampling zone to be divided into four separate sectors, for example, distinguishing between separate voids within a room.

How it works

The VESDA LaserSCANNER air sampling detector draws air from all sectors in use. If the smoke level reaches the Adaptive Scan Threshold, the VLS quickly scans each pipe to identify which pipe is carrying smoke. If more than one pipe is transporting smoke, the sector with the highest smoke concentration is designated as the First Alarm Sector (FAS). Once Fast Scan is completed and the FAS identified, the VLS air sampling detector continues to closely monitor all four sectors (pipes) to monitor fire growth and maintain full protection of the area. There are four alarm levels (Alert, Action, Fire 1 and Fire 2) for each sector (pipe) and the sensitivity for each alarm level can be set to ensure the optimum alarm thresholds are applied for each sector

Sync Module

The AVSM synchronization control module is designed to provide an easy way to synchronize multiple horns, strobes, and horns/strobes using only two wires in instances where a synchronized flash is required. When synchronizing multiple horns and horn/strobes there is the ability to silence the horn while allowing the strobes to continue to flash. Incorporating the control module as shown in the following diagrams, the control module will control the power to the signaling device to produce synchronized operation. The AVSM module is shipped with a back box and cover plate. A green LED status indicator will flash once every four seconds if zone 1 is operational. The LED will flash twice every four seconds if zones 1 and 2 are operational. Strobes should not be used on coded or pulsing signaling circuits.

The Janus Fire Systems® SMB-2 Surface Mount Box is a two-gang utility box designed for surface mounting where a heavy-duty general purpose box is required. Devices can be mounted to pre-drilled and tapped (#6-32) holes in standard two-gang mounting configuration. The box is painted signal red S008 (Ral 3001). They are constructed from heavy duty 16 gauge cold rolled steel (CRS) for maximum durability. The boxes are easily surface mounted with #8 screws using the mounting slots provided in the back of the box. Addressable Pull Station

The PAD100-PSSA (Single Action) is activated by simply pulling the white “T” bar handle down. The PAD100-PSDA (Dual Action) is activated by lifting the front cover and then pulling the white “T” bar handle down. Once activated, the “T” bar cannot be reset without opening the front cover. Opening the front cover will also activate the pull station. To reset the PAD100-PS Series, use the Potter WS-93 key to unlock and open the front cover. Once the cover is open, push the “T” bar back into the normal position and re-secure the front cover. The PAD100-PSSA/PSDAis compatible with JFS-IP series addressable fire alarm control panels. It is a non-coded addressable pull station available in either a single or dual action model and installs on a single gang box or surface mounts using the P32-BB or P32-DBB (deep) back box.

PAD100-PSSA-PSDA

Addressable Dual Action Pull Station

The APS-DA addressable manual pull stations are noncoded and provide an addressable point on an alarm system. The APS-DA has terminals that allow the signaling line circuit (SLC) to be wired directly to the device and then exit to the next device in the loop. The APS-DA will mount in a single gang box or the P32-BB surface mount back box. The APS-DA is activated by lifting the front cover and then pulling the white “T” bar. Once activated, the “T” bar cannot be reset without opening the front cover. Opening the front cover will also activate the manual pull station. To reset the pull station, use the WS-93 key and turn the lock to open the front cover. Once the cover is open, push the white “T” bar into the normal position and re-secure the front cover to the device.

The Janus Fire Systems® MMS-1 Momentary Releasing Station is utilized when a non-maintained manually initiated release of fire suppression agent is required. The manual release is achieved with a momentary toggle switch that is protected by a red toggle guard. A lead wire seal is provided for additional security to prevent accidental operation. The MMS-1 has a stainless steel faceplate with functional markings and mounts to a standard UL Listed 2-gang switch box. The MMS-1 is operated by breaking the lead wire seal, lifting the red toggle guard, and pushing the toggle switch up.

MAS-1

Main/Reserve Transfer Station

The Janus Fire Systems® MRS-1 Main/Reserve Transfer Station is used to transfer suppression system releasing circuits from a main supply to a reserve supply. The MRS-1 is a maintained toggle switch with a ring pin and lead wire seal for additional security. To operate the MRS-1, break the lead wire seal, remove the safety pin and then push the toggle switch down into the Reserve position. Finally, the pin is replaced and a new lead wire seal is installed to ensure the switch is not accidentally tripped.

Die-Cast Metal Manual Pull Station

The SG-42SK1 is a single contact, key-reset, manual pull station designed to meet the requirements for many applications. It is constructed from a rugged, but lightweight, die-cast metal alloy for increased performance and longevity. The SG-42SK1 is provided with one normally open contact connected to a terminal strip that can accommodate wiring from #22 to #12 AWG. Contacts are gold plated to minimize risk of corrosion. All models have been tested by UL and found in compliance with the pull force requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
